Studies show that young students may be interested in studying engineering and are more likely to pursue engineering as a career when they meet engineers and engage in engineering activities. Bringing hands-on activities to students, with the support of practicing engineers and engineering professors, will introduce students to the engineering profession. Students who attend the TryEngineering Summer Institute, a program in the US which began in 2018, annually report that they are more interested in pursuing engineering as a result of working on engineering design challenges with their peers in a non-academic setting. During the pilot program of TryEngineering OnCampus, students shared that this was a life changing experience for them.

TryEngineering OnCampus aims to introduce school-aged children to engineering and to inspire the next generation of engineers. TryEngineering OnCampus will support this strategic goal outside the USA in a sustainable way that is aligned to the local culture and financial capabilities.
